Muay Thai Champions Come To France
Yodsanklai, Sitthitchai and Nong O Teach At The Amazing Muay Thai Masterclass
France is always famed for its culture. And now the culture of Muay Thai comes straight from Thailand to the land of perfume.
The all day event features Muay Thai superstars. Yodsanklai Fairtex, Sitthitchai Sitsongpeenong, and Nong O Hama.
Along with the ring champions are cultural activities. There is a presentation on Muay Thai history and a demonstration of Muay Boran. Muay Boran is the ancient martial art that Muay Thai, the ring sport comes from.
“It’s about getting to know people,” Kevin Noone of the WBC Muay Thai said. “It’s a day out. You get to spend more time with the athletes than a normal seminar. It’s less transaction and more interaction.”
The Amazing Muay Thai Masterclass is part of a Thai government program to promote Thailand through soft power. By using culture and sport, the Southeast Asian country drives tourism and awareness.
“First of all I really love the foreign Muay Thai community. They really have respect for Muay Thai. The foreign participants do Muay Thai and then they come to Thailand, they eat Thai food, they go shopping etc.” Pimol Srivikorn of the Thailand’s Soft Power committee said.
The WBC Muay Thai is supporting the tour. The organization planned the locations around the world. Tour stops include the UK, Australia, Canada, America, France, Italy, and Singapore.
Yodsanklai Fairtex headlines the France event. He is famed for winning the first Muay Thai reality TV show – Contender. Yodsanklai is a household name in the sport. He is a multiple Lumpinee and WBC Muay Thai Champion. His ferocious left kick and left punch brought him to the top of the international scene.
Sitthitchai Sitsongpeenong is known for his kickboxing style. He is a Glory Champion at Lightweight andWBC Muay Thai Champion. His fast and explosive style got him to the top.
Nong O Hama ís a modern day legend. He is a multiple Lumpinee champion and
