Amazing Muay Thai Masterclass

After the first masterclass in England, the Amazing Muay Thai Masterclass Tour set sail to the other side of the world. This time, to Perth, Australia, for the next stop on the global tour.

Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand. It is a true display of beautiful violence brought to you by the most elite strikers on the planet. The Thai government knows that combat sports can unite nationalities. This is why Thailand’s Sports and Tourism Authorities have joined together for the world’s first global Muay Thai tour.

The Kingdom of Thailand has made it their mission to launch a never-seen-before Muay Thai world tour. A true celebration of Thai culture in all its glory, including the infamous Wai Kru and Thai cuisine. Not to mention seminars taught by living Muay Thai legends.

Soft Power Creates Hard Results

The Amazing Muay Thai Tour is launching Muay Thai on an even greater global scale. Muay Thai is becoming extremely popular in the Western world. Now, Thai superstars are bringing Thailand to fans and fighters worldwide. Then, back home to the motherland of Muay Thai. This initiative has the full support of the Thai Government’s ‘Soft Power’ Committee as well as the WBC Muay Thai.

“Perth, Australia is a hotbed of Muay Thai,” Kevin Noone of the WBC Muay Thai said. “It has over 38 practicing Muay Thai gyms.”

This is thanks to the Australian Muay Thai pioneers like Phon Martdee. The Thai government decided Perth would be the perfect place to start.

Namsaknoi Yudthagarngamtorn’s Superior Techniques

On 7 September, Muay Thai athletes Phetjeejaa Or Meekun, Panpayak Jitmuangnon, and Namsaknoi Yudthagarngamtorn led the masterclass on the first stop of the global tour.

Namsaknoi Yudthagarngamtorn, or ‘The Emperor’ taught the first seminar of the day. He based his seminar on his own ‘Namsaknoi style’.

“I teach my style. Enter the clinching, close range and long range,” he said.

This style is born from his experience fighting in the golden era of Muay Thai. He was the reigning lightweight Lumpinee Champion for 6 years. He also trained alongside the legendary Baukaw when they both fought out of Por Pramuk Gym. His seminar included details of both close and long-range fighting skills. Specifically how to enter into the Muay Thai clinch. When in the clinch how to attack with elbows and to off balance. Despite holding a 300-fight record, Namsaknoi was overwhelmed.

”I feel nervous. There are so many people,” he said “Today was all amazing people.”

Panpayak Jitmuangnon, the modern Muay Femur phenom, led the second seminar. He is a former three-time Thailand Fighter of the Year. He was also Rajadamnern and Lumpinee Stadium Champion across 4 weight divisions. His record is second to none. He has fought household names such as Prajanchai PK Seanchai and Superlek.

He based his seminar on head kick combinations. The man who beat Superlek received a real treat. He sparred with several fans. He was matched with a young warrior who put him to the test.

Fans expect to see some of these techniques on his return to ONE Lumpinee in October. He will fight Silviu Vitez.

The Girl Who Beat Boys – Phetjeejaa

Last but not least, Phetjeeja taught her seminar. Known as ‘the girl who beats boys’ and the current ONE Kickboxing World Champion. ‘The Queen’, Phetjeeja has a rare gift. She can use her IQ to beat the best female boxers like Todd and Meksan Todd. But, she can also teach her style in seminars to Muay Thai fans worldwide.

Phetjeejaa taught a combination of boxing and Muay Thai. The female talent spent years honing her western boxing. The combination of traditional Muay Thai and boxing created a storm. She focused on orthodox and unorthodox punches. This created a whirlwind of Mike Tyson like combinations.

Phetjeeja felt honored to teach alongside the golden era and modern masters of Muay Thai. She hopes those in attendance saw the beauty of the art of the 8 limbs.

Muay Thai Goes World Wide

The day itself was a huge success, but don’t take our word for it.

“I’ve been competing for 30 years. I was able to come to the Amazing Muayt Master Class. Some of the best people ever came to deliver their Muay Thai techniques,”

Daniel Dawson, an 8-time world Muay Thai Champion from Australia,

If you will be in Calgary, Canada on September 21st, make sure to secure your ticket for the next stop on the Amazing Muay Thai Global Tour.
